A fruitless pursuit

| hullo. my name is einseltenervogel. this is not my given name. i took it from a song i like by a band i love. now, please sit quietly while i tell deviantART about myself: i know nothing of photography. compare what i do with a camera to a child who kicks a ball against a wall and tells his parents he's playing football. that having been said, my camera is my most beloved ball, and i spend more time than i should kicking it against the wall. anyway, what else? i'm 23 years old and i live in the lovely city of glass and tasers, vancouver, bc. i finished a bacherlor's degree in german (of which i detested every minute to the point of vomiting) at the university of british columbia last year, and am sticking around to complete my [much preferred] studies in philosophy and cognitive systems. somewhat of an itinerant, when i'm not in this city that has adopted me as of six years ago, i can be traced to denmark, norway, germany, or the san francisco bay area. apart from the camera-fiddling i try to pass off as photography, i enjoy reading, writing, filling out crossword puzzles, logic/math, learning foreign languages (so far i've collected, in chronological order, german, norwegian, danish, swedish, a bit of icelandic, a bit of french, a bit of russian, and am currently working on dutch), smoking weed and watching the simpsons, and wishing i could have brought my cats to vancouver with me. but most of all, i drool over the notion of travelling. have i accidentally omitted anything? have i bored you? yes? no? well, then! now that we've established that i spend most of my time in my own head, it should come as no surprise that i'm also a fan of lots and lots of music. my itunes offers everything from gangsta rap to the grandest of the operas, but most of it's pretty good  that's about it. but feel free to drop a line if you'd like to contact me. i'm not the most outgoing, but i'm not averse to shooting the shit with someone who initiates it. cheers and i look forward to viewing your work. i hope you enjoy mine! |
